Late season layering

Late Season Layering System – Extreme Cold

Layering for cold weather can be extremely important. The colder it gets, the more important it is to regulate temperature on the way in to prevent sweating and choose every layer for a specific purpose. In the upper MidWest, it’s been below zero Fahrenheit for most of the past week. I’ve been hunting in the afternoons and pushing my layering system to the extreme. Below is a list of all of the garments I use, broken down by location:

Upper body:
Mid-weight merino base layer x2 (First Lite Chama, Cabelas)
Cabelas Stand Hunter Fleece
First Lite Uncompahgre Jacket
First Lite Woodbury Jacket

Lower Body:
First Lite Allegheny Pants x2
Cabelas Stalking Pant
First Lite Sanctuary Bibs

Feet:
Heavyweight Alpaca Socks
Cabelas Predator Extreme pac boots

Accessories:
First Lite Tundra Balaclava
Pnuma Brimmed merino beanie
Under Armor gloves insulated with Primaloft
Cabelas MT050 Muff
