Walleye fishing in the pristine Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, on Brule lake for 4th of July weekend. We had good weather, minus fairly stiff winds for some of the trip. While we also caught smallmouth bass on this trip, my favorite is always the walleye fishing. Typically, we plan on having fish for at least one meal, which meant that if I went back empty handed, we’d be eating plain ramen noodles for dinner.
I was using a 3/8″ pink jig and leech combo in 18-25 feet of water. It’s tough to tell in the video, but I was actually very close to the islands, and could have easily casted onto shore at any given time.
